Northumberland - Busy doing nothing

Ian decided to leave the connecting door open overnight, and we didn’t hear from Monty until about 8 am when we all woke up. It was a little bit overcast when I took him for his morning walk, so we all lazed about pfaffing. I had the makings of a full English left so around 1030 we got up and had a jolly good breakfast. Monty was walking a little gingerly so we decided to give him a rest as he had done a lot of walking, running and Galloping lately. I set to doing some tests for the upcoming flu season (Yes it’s here again!) While Ian read and scrolled through Facebook, something he promised he would never do.

Late afternoon we gave Monty a little walk around the dog walk then decided to walk across to the Pub for dinner. It was at that moment it started to drizzle. Never mind we had our coats on and Monty was enjoying himself. The pub was about a mile away and we arrived dripping. To find that this pub does not serve food on weekdays! Oh well, we stayed for a pint, then we all trotted back to Dame Shirley where I managed to whip up a cheese, ham and onion omelette with chips.

We just had time to fit in another episode of The Assassin before crashing into bed. Doing nothing is really tiring.

The next morning was taken up by breakfasting and packing before we set off back down south at precisely noon. We braved the Tyne tunnel again and this time I paid for the toll as we went under. The The further south, we got the worse the traffic became. We eventually arrived home at 4:30 pm to a rapturous reception from Misty and Amy.

Musings

River Breamish campsite was lovely. But very isolated.

There are a lot of idiots on the roads.

Auto trails are the best at giving the motorhome wave.

Hymers are too posh to give the motorhome wave.

The football season is back, woo hoo!

My amazing daughter has published another book. Buy it!
