The Lakes - Rain!
Things were looking down! There was some serious rain overnight, and the morning was drizzly and cloudy. Everywhere else in the world appeared to be red hot still, including Rotherham, where I could see the lads on the Ring Doorbell soaking up the rays. Never mind. We had a nice lie in and a very pfaffy morning.
We decided a low level walk would be ideal as the tops were all under cloud so we got our warm weather clothes and coats out for the first time in ages and set off for the Derwentwater launch. We arrived just in time, but the inside was full leaving only the outside seating. We were in our wet weather gear though, so all good. We alighted at the Lodore jetty, where the canoe hire man was reporting a theft of stand up paddle boards to the police. Crime happens everywhere. We then set off to walk back to Keswick around the top of the lake.
As we walked the weather improved and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The walk was seven miles in total, round about my limit these days, but very little up and down.
Back in Keswick we looked around for food, ending up at a Greene King, who would have thought it would be so difficult. It was that In between time though, around 4.30. Gammon and lasagne devoured, we dragged ourselves back to the site and I had a wonderful afternoon nap. Refreshed, I showered (push button sadly) before we watched another episode of The Diplomat. Things are hotting up. Then it was straight to bed for me, and out like a light.
Musings
Keswick is very busy, even in the rain
Keswick is even busier when the Christian Convention is on, as it was last year
I don’t like push button showers
Rotherham have lacked a box to box midfielder for years now
Tomorrow is the premier league fixture release day, and I don’t care
It’s annoying watching Kathy and Einar sat in the courtyard with a glass of wine in the sun while it’s chucking it down here

The box to box midfielder comment is out of nowhere 😂
