Torchlight - Heather Small

Another lovely nights sleep then I got up with Misty before we settled in for pfaffing. No rush today as nothing began till 2.30. I made lovely sausage and egg sandwiches while Ian did his back exercises, after which Ian went in search of an elusive Elsan point. There are several on the map but we haven’t managed to see one in the wild yet. He returned triumphant and took the toilet away to empty. He also poured the grey waste (mucky water) in the woods as directed. We both chilled a bit, literally in my case as the weather had changed and I was freezing, before having a spot of lunch then wandering up to see Fake Kate Bush. She was excellent and I managed to belt out my rendition of ‘Wuthering Heights’ with gusto.

Fake Kate

We returned to Dame Shirley again, and after a while Ian went and fetched us a lukewarm pizza and some chips. The food hasn’t really been much cop here.

Next up was my favourite act of the weekend. Toyah. She was brilliant and had so much energy, she is 66. She did a mixture of her own songs and festival favourites, playing right into the crowds hands. We also managed to worm our way really close to the front.

The Amazing Toyah

In the mosh pit again.

Another little break for us before the last act. Heather Small. Not quite Toyah but pretty good, she also had loads of energy and left us with a great rendition of ‘moving on up’.

Heather giving it all

We were soon back at Dame Shirley and off to bed.

We had to leave by 12 the next day so plenty of time for pfaffing. Then it was all go packing up and moving on out. We had had such a good weekend. Comparing it to Clubfest, it is much smaller so not as much going on, but we were much closer to the action. The weather was much better here though.

We will definitely come again!
