The wind had picked up overnight, but it was still full sun as I rose to walk Misty. She was limping a little after yesterdays exertions so we decided to leave her behind with the ventilation going and the roof vents open. Porridge for breakfast then we gave her a walk down to the lower dog walking area which has fantastic views over the sea. Not that Misty cared, there was sniffing to be done. We checked on the temp in Dame Shirley, which was fine, bundled her in and set off to walk to Morte point.
Down the lane toward the farm, Turn left and through the next camp site then on to Morthoe village. We passed the very spot where the creature got me yesterday, and as expected I had an enormous swelling mozzie bite on my leg. Little swine. We passed the pub and also the village cemetery, which also has lovely sea views, and on to Morte point itself. It’s an amazing place and the weather was perfect, not too hot, no rain. We spotted loads of seals at the Northern tip, and there are loads of weird rock formations, what do you think they look like?

Eventually we came back around to Morthoe, and The Ship Aground. It would be rude not to wouldn’t it?
Back through Morthoe, through the other camp site, past the beastie place, and on up the hill, we eventually wound our weary way back to Dame Shirley and Misty. There we found that the new mat had blown away and our next door neighbours had retrieved it from over the way and put it underneath! Ian went across to the shop to get ‘hot pasties’ as advertised on the board. Unfortunately they were not heating today, so we threw them in the oven. We sat out but the wind picked up again and it started to get chilly. We retired inside to watch antiques roadshow and Sir Elton’s final performance at Glastonbury. We loved it, but I bet Kiki Dee didn’t! Elton really did break her heart.

The man with the baubles did no cleaning whatsoever, and he left his chairs out in the wind while he went off in his van. Ian made friends with the mat retrieval man, who has not one, but two electric bikes in a trailer. He also has two vicious dachshunds who have to be held back ever time Misty passes. She just looks the other way. Not really neighbours but whenever anyone leaves the site staff come across with implements and go over the pitch with a fine tooth comb, weeding and raking the gravel into perfect lines.
