Bristol - Devizes
Unbelievably the day dawned bright and sunny. We lazed about then I thrashed Ian in the crossword off. While lazing we noticed a chainsaw kind of noise emanating from the basin. It was some kind of radio controlled boat meet. I threw some very nice egg sarnies together for breakfast while we got high on engine oil fumes. I did go and have a little look and it was quite exciting.

Only half an hour later, about 11.30, Ian came strolling back. He is very blasé about the 12’o’clock departure time. Me not so. So there were just all the Ian only jobs left to do. He did, however, give me a lesson on emptying the chemical toilet so I can do that in future.
Vicky and Alex arrived as we were preparing for departure laden with presents. We were giving Vicky and her many bags a lift home to Devizes. She strapped herself into the table seat and turned on the football and we were ready for off.
We loved Baltic Wharf. It’s great being right in the middle of the city, but the trees and bushes made it seem like the countryside. The showers were hot and powerful, and you didn’t have to keep pressing the button, Ian’s bugbear. Plus the short cleaning closure time were perfect for certain people.
Back in Devizes we deposited all Vickys belongings then went to the Bear for Sunday dinner. The Bear hotel is where Thomas Lawrence the famous painter once lived, his father being a landlord. Not to be confused with Tom Lawrence, the ex Derby (and Rotherham) forward, who always scores against us.

Another good time away apart from the score and the rain. Thank you for sharing it with us.
