Leek - The Roaches

 Don’t worry Kathy and Vicky, Dame Shirley isn’t infested! The Roaches are a range of strange rock formations close to the camp site that we had planned to walk. We woke bright and early. About four am early as we had forgotten to close one of the roof blinds leading to us being blinded by the scorchio sun. We did manage to get a good lie in till about quarter to eight though. The traffic noise didn’t disturb us after all. My turn for Misty so I fed her and took her for a drag around the dog walk. It is covered in wood chip and she does not like it. We lazed in bed and had a crossword off. Then we were up and at it for a cooked breakfast under the awning.  Preparing a full English Eating a full English Replete we prepared to depart for our walk, but sadly as we set off we noticed Misty was limping. Leek - The res

 A while ago I decided the spring bank holiday weekend would be a good time to go away in Dame Shirl. Three days instead of two to explore and relax. As the weekend approached it became clear that it would be the hottest weekend of the year so far. Scorchio as they say. My shorts ventured out for the first time of the season, I purchased a delicious array of barbecue vittels, and Ian only packed three coats.  We were travelling to the camping and caravanning clubs Blackshaw Moor site, just north of Leek, on the edge of the White Peak. Nice and close and an area we haven’t much explored. Not needing to leave too early as the earliest entry is always 1pm, we relaxed, then relaxed some more. Kathy and I exchanged annoyed texts about the fact that Vicky had booked a holiday to New York. WITHOUT US!
