Who? Where? When?

 At last, our Motorhome would be arriving from Italy and we could start travelling. But first she needed a name. As we all know Motorhomes are invariably female, and the obvious first choice was Millie. However, on reflection, I decided this would be a really common Motorhome moniker. We were racking our brains for months, then this happened. In the 88th minute at the Priestfield Stadium in Gillingham, Georgie Kelly scored the goal that cemented promotion and wrote himself into Rotherham United history. There could only be one name for the Motorhome, Georgie Girl! Ian wasn’t keen at all but I persevered until he pointed out a flaw in my cunning name plan. What if, at some time in the future, it all goes bad with Georgie Kelly. He asks for a massive pay rise and leaves under a cloud. He appears on Twitter saying that Paul Warnes tactics are rubbish. Let’s buy a Motorhome!

 For some years Ian and I had talked of having a Motorhome and taking off all over Europe, but we never acted on it. We had a pandemic in 2020. We were locked down, couldn’t go anywhere. It ran into 2021. In October 2021 we decided to bite the bullet and give motorhoming a try, see if we liked it. We hired a lovely Rollerteam 590 from Big Dave at Dicksons of Perth (highly recommended) and set off to do the NC500. As documented elsewhere (The Walters Two’s Scottish Sojourn) we absolutely loved it.  Somewhere lovely in Scotland By November 2021 we had decided to do it, we were going to buy a Motorhome! The nice windfall from Uncle Phil (thank you Uncle Phil) meant we could afford a brand spanking new one. Great, Easy, No Problem? Wrong. It transpires that everyone in the Uk had the same idea.
